About this street
Bùi Viện is District 1's backpacker street: bars, neon and music until late, with the road handed over to pedestrians on weekend nights. Outside those hours it is a narrow two-way street shared by walkers, taxis and a steady stream of motorbikes.
The crowd is the hazard. People stop in the road to take photos, riders squeeze past at walking pace, and the sidewalk is full of plastic stools. Keep your line straight and your speed even.
